Zakat guides, calculations and practical checks
Use this learning centre to prepare one person’s eligible wealth for one valuation date. It connects the wealth checklist, gold valuation and Nisab guidance so that you can see how the steps fit together.
Open the Zakat calculatorPrepare your calculation in four steps
- Choose your valuation date and gather account balances, eligible metal values and other assessed assets.
- Check ownership and the treatment of jewellery, pensions, investments, receivables and permitted deductions using your trusted guidance.
- Obtain a current Nisab threshold in the same currency, with the recommended metal basis and weight convention.
- Calculate the estimate, review its conditions and print the breakdown before payment.
Which tool do I need?
The complete Zakat calculator combines eligible wealth. The gold calculator values metal by weight and purity. The Nisab calculator compares gold and silver thresholds using your prices. Carry a metal value into the complete calculation once; do not add a separate metal payment estimate again.
When the answer needs personal guidance
A mortgage balance, inaccessible pension, doubtful loan or jointly owned asset can require a decision before arithmetic. Our detailed worksheet leaves unresolved treatment visible. It does not apply a universal pension percentage or decide a school’s debt policy on your behalf.
Annual Zakat and Zakat al-Fitr are separate
The annual wealth calculation uses eligible assets and conditions. The Fitrana calculator plans a household payment using a verified per-person rate. Keep their records separate.
